As the crisis over Ukraine continues to unfold, there is one big question hovering behind it: Just how important is the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine to the United States? And is that importance based on material considerations or a broader but more abstract concern about the “liberal international order”? In order to chew over the latest developments in the situation and also address this more fundamental question, I invited back onto the show Edmund Flett, the host of an international affairs podcast here in The Netherlands.
